Our Ethos

It is at the centre of our practice as gardeners and restoration professionals that the environment should always come first. We build our gardens in response to the landscape and ecology around them. Our work prioritises locally native species, observes natural watercourses, climate conditions, and encourages food and habitat sources for native fauna.

We believe that private gardens encompass a significant part of public environmental concerns, so making choices that will sustain the equilibrium of our ecology is important for the future of our planet.

Equilibrium Gardens is committed to;

  • Selecting plants of local provenance from nurseries with good seed collection ethics

  • Not using harmful fertilisers, pesticides and chemicals that inflict long term damage on the health of soil

  • Ensuring that materials used are not harming the environment (i.e. not using bush rock, excess water, and certain petrol tools)

  • Removal of all environmental weeds from properties we work on

  • Planting within the conditions of being locally native, highly aesthetic, or otherwise purposeful

  • Educating community and bringing attention to the importance of local ecosystems

  • Creating habitat for native wildlife

Through these commitments we hope to mitigate our footprint as a gardening business, and ensure that our practices work towards not just sustaining, but regenerating our planet!
